The main attraction of Chengdu itself is the world renowned UN-awarded Panda Breeding Research Centre, where you can see the personality-plus bears in a semi-natural environment. Be sure to visit early morning to see the bears in action at feeding time, during which they flop back leisurely on their behind munching kilos of bamboo in a sitting, oblivious to the tourists snapping away a mere few metres away.

Travel Tips in Chengdu
A shuttle bus is available at 20-minute intervals from airport to city center, about 35 minutes, fare CNY 8-10. The first bus starts at 5:00, starting point, Lantian Hotel Stop, at second section of Renmin South Road (beside China Southwest Airlines ticket office). Taxi fare, CNY 50 -- with bargaining -- is reasonable from airport to city center.
